It was a mixed day in the office for Nigerian players across Europe as preseason preparations entered full gear, with Tolu Arokodare scoring on his Amiens debut, whilst it was yet another defeat for Rangers duo of Balogun and Aribo, AOIFootball.com reports.

Maduka Okoye: The Super Eagles’ number one’s defense was breached thrice by KAA Gent in their 3-3 draw, in what was his first pressing game of the season.

Tarik Tissoudali put the visitors ahead with a well-taken penalty in the 14th minute before Gianni Bruno doubled his side’s advantage from close range 11 minutes later to make it 2-0.

Lennart Thy then pulled one back immediately from the penalty spot before second-half substitute Emmanuel Emegha put them level six minutes after the hour mark.

Jeremy Udenhout then made it 3-2 to Rotterdam in the 75 minutes but the Visitors scored a sumptuous equalizer five minutes later with Okoye managing just to get a fingertip on a curling effort from Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe who made it 3-3.

Jamilu Collins: The Eagles’ left-back saw 68 minutes of action for Bundesliga 2 side Paderborn as they fell 4-1 to a superior Ajax team in a friendly played at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam.

Sebastian Haller (16) and Mohammed Kudus (38) put the host on cruise control at halftime before second-half substitute Danilo made it 3-0 just before the hour mark with German defender Uwe Hunemeier pulling one back on 66 minutes to make it 3-1.

Collins then left the field moments later but it was the hosts who added a fourth 12 minutes from time via the boots of Zakaria Labyad who sealed a one-sided 4-1 victory.

Leon Balogun, Joe Aribo, and Calvin Bassey: All three players started from the bench for Glasgow Rangers as they fell to a shock 1-0 defeat at English League Two side Tranmere Rovers.

Kieron Morris got the only goal of the game in the first period with all 3 Nigerians coming on at half time but their presence could do little as Steven Gerrard’s side fell to their first preseason defeat with the club next facing Arsenal in their next warm-up game.

Jordan Attah Kadiri: The 21-year-old lay down a perfect marker for the new season as he scored his first preseason goal of the campaign as he Lommel SK side lost 2-1 to Beerschot V.A on Saturday.

Raphael Holzhhauser put the hosts ahead from the spot on the 8th minute before Thibault De Smet made it back 2-0 nine minutes after the hour mark.

The impressive Kadiri then gave his side a lifeline when he headed home from a really tight angle to half lathe deficit but the host held on to clinch a 2-1 Victory.

Valentine Ozornwafor: The Eagles defender featured for 45 minutes as he impressed for Galatasary in their 4-2 win over Kaaimpasa with fellow Nigerian Jesse Sedika coming in at halftime.

Tolu Arokodare: The 20-year-old began life at French Club Amiens on a scoring note as he opened the scoring for them in their 2-1 preseason win over KV Oostende.

Arnaud Lusamba double Amiens lead on the 64th minute before Makhtar Gueye pulled one back for Oostende in the closing stages of the game.
