The third edition of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) awards will be held on Friday 17th September 2021, reports.

This much was revealed in the maiden edition of the newly launched NFF News, a quarterly magazine for the Federation.

The awards, which is sponsored by one of the Federation’s sponsors, AITEO, was first held in 2018 at the Banquet Hall of the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

It has also continued to attract the creme de la creme of World Football, including FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Secretary-General, Fatma Samoura, amongst others.

The NFF has hinted that the third edition will be dedicated to Women’s Football, with the 1999 set of Super Falcons who got to the quarterfinals at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in the USA being honoured.

The first edition honoured and celebrated the first Super Eagles team to clinch an African Cup of Nations title in 1980, while the second edition held in April 2019 honoured the AFCON 1994 winning team.
