Nigerian Forward Iyayi Believe Atiemwen has joined Cyprus side Omonia Nicosia on a season-long loan deal from Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb, reports.

The former Bendel Insurance striker joined Zagreb in a £2.4 million switch from HNK Gorica having previously had spells in Turkey with the likes of Caykur Rizespor, Sanliurfaspor and Manisaspor.

The 25-year-old will now join fellow Nigerian Abdullahi Shehu who has been a mainstay at the club since he joined them in October of 2020 helping the club to the league title last season and their first Super Cup in 9 years already this week.

“We announce that we have reached an agreement with GNK Dinamo Zagreb for the acquisition of the 25-year-old Nigerian midfielder, Iyayi Atiemwen, in the form of a one-year loan and the right to buy from our team next summer.

Iyayi Atiemwen belongs to GNK Dinamo Zagreb since 2019, with whose shirt he has been crowned champion and won the double while counting participation in the groups of the Champions League and the Europa League.

We welcome Iyayi Atiemwen to the OMONIA family and wish him every success!,” Omonia announced.

The Nigerian scored 8 goals in all competitions last campaign with 2 of those goals coming in the Europa League and will be vividly remembered for the last campaign after he came off the bench to set up a goal which sent Spurs out of the competition.
