Nigerian international, Taiwo Awonyi has thanked the immediate past club, Liverpool, for all the support they have given to him in the last six years following his permanent transfer to German Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin, AOIFootball.com reports.
The former Golden Eaglets attacker joined the Reds in 2015 but failed to secure a work permit, spending time on loan to clubs across Europe during his long wait to play for the club.
The striker was however granted a permit this summer but despite resuming preseason with the Jurgen Klopp side, was sold to Union Berlin for a few of around £6.5 million after a successful loan spell at Berlin which saw him put pen to paper on a 5-year deal.
“Thank you @LFC. Great 6 years with you with lots of learning and development. Thanks for the years with the club and the entire management.
“@fcunion_en#new home. Happy to be part of the family. The journey continues #God Forever is the Greatest,” Awoniyi posted, confirming his departure from the Reds.
