Mikel Agu, once the first Nigerian footballer to play for Portuguese giants FC Porto, has been without a club for over a year. His last appearance was for Japanese third-division side Giravanz Kitakyushu. While his football career may be winding down, Agu is far from idle—he’s living his best life with his two sons and his beautiful wife, Henrietta Omoriege Ogochukwu.

Mikel and Henrietta got married in a lavish ceremony on June 17, 2017, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Asaba, Delta State. By then, they were already proud parents to their first son, Stefano, born on January 30, 2017.
Stefano also has a traditional Nigerian name—Chukwukaima—which means “God will answer your prayer.” On September 7, 2023, the couple welcomed their second son, Joshua, completing their small but joyful family.
Henrietta’s Background and Career Sacrifice
Henrietta was born in Delta State and celebrates her birthday on November 19. She went to school in Agbor before earning a degree in Theatre Arts from Delta State University. During her university years, she explored a career in modeling.
However, after she began dating Mikel, she left modeling at his request. “I asked her to stop because I am too jealous and I am a public figure,” Agu once admitted.
Henrietta has also chosen to stay off social media, which is why she doesn’t have a personal Instagram account. Still, her grace and personality shine through the photos Mikel shares online.
