The successful season for FC Nantes’ most valuable player, Moses Simon, came to an abrupt end in late March after an unfortunate shin fracture. On the bright side, the Nigerian footballer got the chance to spend more time with his charming wife, Ibukun Sarah Adenuga, and their daughters, while also supporting Ibukun in her business ventures.

Love Story: The Beginning
The Nigerian national team forward met his future wife back in high school. Ibukun supported the footballer at the very beginning of his journey and stood by him even before Simon moved to Europe and became a sought-after player. She helped him through tough times, even when Moses was unsure of what he wanted from life.
Relocation to Europe and The Wedding
After moving to European leagues, first to Slovakia and then to Belgium, the young Nigerian football talent also helped his beloved relocate. Less than a year after debuting for K.A.A. Gent, the forward took a significant step and proposed to Ibukun Sarah Adenuga.
She accepted, and the couple married on December 29, 2015, in a traditional ceremony in Ibadan, Oyo State. At the celebration, Simon said:
“I have longed for this day to come, I really thank Almighty God who has made this day to come at last. It is a thing of joy to finally marry my beloved wife. I’m sure God has a reason he has brought us together.”
Three years later, on August 3, 2018, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Emmanuella Simon. In 2020, their second daughter, Ehi, was born.
Entrepreneurial Life
However, it’s not just Moses Simon who contributes significantly to the development of football in their loving family. Nigerian-born Ibukun received her higher education at the Polytechnic Institute of Ibadan, obtaining a national diploma in banking and finance.
A career-oriented woman, she also completed a three-year course at Artevelde University of Applied Sciences in Belgium, earning a bachelor’s degree in applied sciences in international business management. According to Soccernet.NG, Ibukun has served as the founder and CEO of Simoiben Academy since its inception.
She confidently and successfully manages the football academy, producing young talents, some of whom have signed contracts with international football clubs. For instance, Solomon John signed with the Czech club Mlada Boleslav, and Lawrence Shimave Ugen joined the Latvian team BFC Daugavpils in 2023. Despite constantly supporting her husband on and off the field and raising their daughters, she effectively handles her role and is poised to take a prominent position in the business world.
Social Media
Ibukun Sarah’s Instagram account boasts 14,500 followers, with whom she happily shares travel photos and family memories. Both the forward and his wife frequently share snapshots of their family life on social media. Their pages feature photos of their beautiful daughters, holiday greetings, and cozy couple photoshoots filled with love and trust.
